Bed Bugs in CUN
We wanted to provide you with a quick update from Health and Safety as to a recent elevated risk at the Royalton Riviera in Cancun. Over the past week, a number of FCM’s and Flight Attendants have had rooms with bedbugs. Both your Accommodations and Health and Safety Committees have been investigating and pushing for our crews to be moved to alternate hotels ASAP.
We do expect this to be rectified quickly. Please find attached a company reminder, as it has helpful information to ensure you do not bring any pests home with you.
No matter which hotel you stay at, crews should inspect their rooms thoroughly. This includes beds, mattresses, sheets, and walls for signs of infestation. Place all baggage in bathtubs and nothing on beds.
If bugs are found, please vacate your room immediately and report to the hotel manager and request a room change to a different area of the hotel. Bed bugs migrate from room to room via hallways, walls, ventilation and electrical. If for any reason the hotel is unable to satisfy your request and/or bugs are seen in a second room, please notify the on-call manager and crew travel, and request a hotel change immediately. Please also inform Health and Safety.
