Today, March 4, 2025, sees the first tranche of Sunwing pilots enter the WestJet pilot ranks. As we embark on this new chapter together, we wanted to share a few thoughts.

As many of you are aware, the official last flight for Sunwing Airlines will be May 28th. We would like to put together a commemorative video of the history of our pilots at Sunwing.

As the completion of the integrated seniority list is now complete, and the first Sunwing pilots are set to transfer over to WestJet in the coming months, we have received access to view the WestJet pairings.

As you are aware, WestJet plans to close the YQB base. We, as your ALPA MEC representatives, joined by representatives of CUPE, are interested in holding a day in YQB in February, to bring media attention to this terrible decision.

On January 7th and 8th, the MEC attended ALPA leadership training at ALPA headquarters in Virginia.
